CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD OF MOLTEN STEEL USING BELT TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To obtain a billet having excellent quality and surface characteristic and to protect a casting belt by coating preliminarily a coating material having a specific component onto the surface of a metallic endless belt which contacts with a molten steel and performing casting. CONSTITUTION:A coating material is formed by dispersing 4-20wt% boron nitride powder into a freon solvent incorporated therein with a resin additive. Such coating material is coated on the surface of a metallic endless belt on the side where the belt contacts with a molten steel. The coating is executed continuously while the belt rotates during casting. The surface of the belt brought into contact with the billet is washed and dried during the time since the detachment of the belt from the pulley positioned at the bottom end in the casting space until arrival of the belt again at the top end of the casting space and thereafter the coating material is coated thereon by a spraying method. Such process is repeated.
