PURPOSE:To remove easily water drops from endless belts with relatively simple constitution by providing electromagnetic coils to the endless belts and generating eddy current by the electromagnetic induction effect thereof so that the endless belts generate heat. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic coils 7 are installed to face the casting surfaces of endless belts 3 in the non-casting region B from the part where the belts 3 emerge from a casting region A up to the part where the belts 3 return to the region B. When AC magnetic fields are generated from the coils 7 by conducting alternating current thereto, the belts 3 generate heat on account of the secondary eddy current generated in the belts 3, thus allowing the water drops sticking to the belt surfaces to evaporate in short time. Since the belts 3 are preheated just prior to contact with the molten metal by the heat generating effect thereof, the thermal impact when the molten metal contacts with the belts is relieved. |
