NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X<1> is H or halogen; X<2> is halogen; Y<1>-Y<3> are H, halogen or alkyl; at least one of Y<1>-Y<3> is not H; R is H or group of formula II; a and b are 0-3; a+b<=3; Z is halogen). EXAMPLE:N-( 2,6-Difluorobenzoyl )-N'-[2-fluoro-4-(1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethylthio)phenyl]urea. USE:Insecticide effective to repel and control the lepidopterous vermin, coleopterous vermin, dipterous vermin, orthopterous vermin (e.g. cockroach), etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared either by reacting the compound of formula III with the compound of formula IV, or by reacting the compound of formula V with the compound of formula VI. The reaction is carried out in a proper solvent (e.g. pentane) at about 0-120 deg.C, preferably about 10-50 deg.C in the former case, and at about 30-150 deg.C, preferably about 50-150 deg.C in the latter case.
