PURPOSE:To facilitate easy control of the recorded information and at the same time to attain the effective use of a recording medium, by recording again the information on a recorded area to an unrecorded area and then recording successively the additional information to erase the information on the recorded area which is recorded again. CONSTITUTION:When the additional information A' is recorded to the information A, the information A recorded to a recorded area (a) is first recorded again to an unrecorded area (b). Then the information A' is recorded after the information A. In this case, the information A already recorded to the area (a) is erased. In case additional information C' and E' are recorded to the information C and E, the information C, C', E and E' are successively recorded after the information A'. Then information C and E recorded to the area (a) are erased. This facilitates the easy control and retrieval of recorded information. Furthermore the surface area of a photomagnetic disk 1 can be used effectively. |
