PURPOSE:To optionally set an auto-clear time under a prescribed condition, by setting a timer value corresponding to a prescribed time period in a non-volatile memory by means of a control section, when the control section receives a command to change the prescribed time period. CONSTITUTION:When it is discriminated that a copying operation has completed and a preset time has passed, a control section 19 returns the mode of a copying machine from a copying mode designated from a console to a basic mode and sets the copying machine to the same condition as that when the power supply is made initially. Namely, by inputting a prefixed numeral through the ten keys of the console 18 after a diagnostic mode is designated and the diagnostic mode is started, the control section 19 accesses a counting value setting area set in a non-volatile memory (NVM)19f and sets a prescribed byte corresponding to the counting value of the area. The counting value can be set to any values in accordance with the need of users and the time from the termination of a copying operation in a designated mode to the auto-clear can be changed as occasion demands. |
