The invention relates to an attachment device allowing the protection of painted motor vehicle bodywork during assembly of the vehicles on production lines. It is constituted by a protective skin 1 made of plastic, for example, closely following the shapes of the bodywork. The protective skin 1 is positioned accurately by means of its outlines 2. It is held by means of non-permanent adhesive tape 3 which covers the opening 5 made in the protective skin, this being done at as many places as necessary, and which sticks directly onto the bodywork. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for protecting motor vehicle bodywork. <IMAGE>
