The present invention relates to a floating column enabling the anchoring of a floating support. This floating anchoring column 14 comprises a shaft 2 and a float 10 securely fastened to the said shaft 2 and is characterised in that it has in combination a ratio P1 or slenderness ratio greater than 10, the ratio P1 being equal to the quotient of the total height of the shaft H over the mean diameter d of the shaft, this mean diameter being defined as the diameter of the cylinder of the same volume and same total height as the said shaft, and a ratio P2 greater than 2, the ratio P2 being equal to the quotient of the mean diameter D of the float 10 over the mean diameter d of the shaft, the mean diameter D of the float being defined as the diameter of the cylinder of the same volume and of the same total height as the said float.
