The corner piece (1) has arms (2, 3) which can be pushed into the hollow sections and are intended for bearing against two adjacent inner surfaces of the hollow sections and which can be connected to the hollow sections by connecting elements running in a cross-sectional plane of the arms (2, 3). In order to avoid the previously customary production of such corner pieces by casting, owing to the very complicated moulds, the corner piece (1) is produced from sheet metal and each of its arms (2, 3) has an angled portion, the bending edge of which runs in the longitudinal direction of the arms (2, 3). The latter are provided with mountings (8) for receiving polygonal nuts (9). On the inside of the corner piece (1) there is provided in the region of the junction of the arms (2, 3) a mounting (13) for fastening a covering part, which serves for covering the end openings of the transversely trimmed sections pushed onto the arms (2, 3). <IMAGE>
