PURPOSE:To obtain a reducing gas-sensitive body of which the resistance value changes less with a change in the moisture and temp. in atm. air and which has high sensitivity by adding respectively >=1 metals or oxides of Cr, Pd and Sb to an n type metallic oxide semiconductor and utilizing the respective characteristcs of three kinds of the elements. CONSTITUTION:A gas-sensitive body 2 constituted by adding at least one of Cr or oxide of Cr, at least one of Pd or the oxide thereof and at least one of Sb and the oxide thereof to an n type metallic oxide semiconductor such as SnO2, ZnO2 having the resistance value which decreases as a result of contact with a reducing gas such as CO, gaseous hydrocarbon or the like is prepd. For example, 0.1-100g Cr or the oxide thereof in terms of Cr2O3, 0.005-12g Pd or the oxide thereof in terms of PdO and <=2.1g Sb or the oxide thereof in terms of Sb2O3 are added to 100g SnO2. Cr has the effect of decreasing the resistance change with a temp. change, Pd acts as a catalyst and Sb has the effect of decreasing a fluctuation in resistance value with a temp. change. The sensitive element having stable and good sensitivity is thus obtd. by addition of three kinds of components. |
