PURPOSE:To improve the safety by selecting one of a plurality of rear wheel steering control patterns and steering the rear wheel gradually as a function of time to new steering angle thereby preventing abrupt change of car when switching the pattern. CONSTITUTION:The left and right rear wheels 3, 4 are steered by a hydraulic actuator 13 through steering linkages 11, 12. Supply/discharge of working oil to the actuator 13 is performed through a servo valve 19 to be controlled through a control circuit 21. The control circuit 21 will control the servo valve 19 on the basis of a pattern selected from a plurality of rear wheel steering control patterns through a pattern selection switch 25, front wheel steering angle from a steering angle sensor 23, car speed from a car speed sensor 24 and the actual rear wheel steering angle from a steering angle sensor 26. If the pattern is switched, the control circuit 21 will control the servo valve 19 such that the rear wheels 3, 4 will be steered gradually as a function of time to a new rear wheel steering angle of selected pattern. |
