摘要 The invention relates to a device allowing small pieces of reed to be brought to a thickness accurate to 1/100 mm in order to make double reeds for wind instruments therefrom. This device is composed, on the one hand, of a device 1 for fixing the small pieces of reed intended to be planed and, on the other hand, of a movable assembly 2 carrying a cutting blade 3 whose movement is perfectly guided on a rail 4 and by a shaft 5. The adjustment of the thickness of the chip is ensured by the rotation of the screw 6. The lateral positioning of the cutter with respect to the axis of the reed is ensured by the rotation of the drum 7 graduated in 1/100 of mm. The thickness of the reed to be produced is adjusted by means of the second drum 8, itself also graduated in 1/100 of mm. The entire assembly is securely fastened to a plate 9. The movement of the movable assembly is easily manually produced by means of the handle 10. In a few passes of planing perfectly calibrated reeds are obtained. The plane, whose dimensions can be adjusted to the manufacture of reeds for various wind instruments, is very easy to use and allows very precise adjustment of the thickness of the reeds. <IMAGE>
