PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a mechanism for switching over to a 4- wheel or 2-wheel drive and reduce the cost as well as the number of parts by arranging the output shafts of the front and rear wheel drive secondary transmission devices in a straight line in a crank case and by interposing a dog clutch between them. CONSTITUTION:In the center bottom of a crank case 8, an output shaft 24 is set along a case mating surface 8a in the longitudinal direction of an engine 7. This output shaft 24 consists of the first output shaft 25 and the second output shaft 26, which are each separately formed and arranged in a straight line. Also between the ends 25a and 26a of the output shafts 25 and 26, a sleeve 30 is fitted and supported, and clutch mechanism 31 is set between one end 30a of this sleeve 30 and the end 26a of the output shaft 26. A dog clutch 32 of the clutch mechanism 31 is shifted on the output shaft 26 to engage a dog 33 with the dog clutch 32, and thus the power transmitted to the output shaft 25 is transmitted to the output shaft 26. |
