PURPOSE:To simplify the structure, reduce the weight, and improve the mountability on car by arranging both differential gears and a direction change gear concentrically to each other and by forming both switching mechanisms into one body. CONSTITUTION:In a casing 23 of a transmission 20, an intermediate differential gear 30 (first differential gear) and a front wheel differential gear 40 (second differential gear) are arranged. The intermediate differential gear 30 is a bevel gear-type differential gear which divides the inputted power for outputting to the front and rear wheel sides, and supports a ring gear 25 which always engages with the output gear fixed to an output shaft 22 of the transmission 20 as one body. The front wheel differential gear 40 is set on one side of the intermediate differential gear 30 concentrically with this gear 30. And, depending on the position of a coupling sleeve 61 of a switching mechanism 61, the input power of the differential gear 30 is outputted to drive the four wheels when its differential mechanism is switched on, and to drive the two wheels when its differential mechanism is switched off. |
