The door opener can be mounted in a recess in the door frame, and has a pivoting catch (10) which is provided with a register (22), which in the locked position engages immovably a latch. By the activation of an electromagnet the latch is pivoted into a released open position. Adjacent to the pivoting catch a lock body (14) is pivoted which has a striking edge (16), which in the locked position pushes against the striking edge of the pivoting catch. It is movable in the open position, the strike edge does not hinder the movement of the pivoted catch.
