The invention relates to a device for attaching a scouring or wiping or polishing cloth to a cleaning implement for cleaning, wiping and polishing floors, side walls and the like. It consists of an open ring (1) which is pushed over the holding handle (2). On each open side (1a, 1b), the ring (1) has an elastic loop (3a, 3b) to which is attached in each case a, for example, spherical body (4a, 4b). The device according to the invention is of extremely simple construction and can be used in many ways in that it is adapted to different holding handle diameters. Due to the self-locking, it allows secure attachment of the scouring or polishing cloth to the cleaning implement. In the unstressed state, the holder itself, like the cloth, can be removed therefrom at any time. <IMAGE>
