发明名称 OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the recording sensitivity and S/N ratio in the reading by making phthalocyanine contained in a light absorbing electrode layer while a ferrodielectric liquid crystal is used as a liquid crystal in an optical recording medium having a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:A substrate having a light absorbing electrode layer and a transparent substrate having a transparent electrode layer are arranged with the electrode layers on both the substrates as opposed to form a cell, in which is housed a liquid crystal. As for the liquid crystal, a smectic ferrodielectric liquid of the formula I , II and III is used singly or together with other liquid crystals or electrolytes. The thickness of the liquid crystal layer shall be about 0.01-100mum. To further improve the sensitivity, the liquid crystal layer may be mixed with a dichroic pigment or a pigment such as phthalocyanine. A substrate having the light absorbing electrode layer is made up of an electrode layer mainly composed of phtharocyanine formed on the surface of glass, resin or the like. When provided on the electrode layers of both of the substrates, an orienting agent layer helps elevating sensitivity.
