PURPOSE:To remove the stress in the inner and outer directions of a plate surface by subjecting the face to contact the machine to be worked to a knurling finish, by pinching the material to be worked with two pieces of wedges having the taper of the specified angle on the face of the opposite side and by acting a tensile force. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the material 3 to be worked are fastened by the force proportional to the tensile force from both faces thereof with two pieces of wedges 1 which are taper-finished at 15 deg.-30 deg. on the face of the opposite side with the knurling finish of the face coming into contact with the machine to be worked in the stress relieving equipment providing the power source of hydraulic cylinder, etc. The rod 2 acts a tensile force on the material 3 to be worked first from the shrinked side of the jaw 4 of the material 3 before the fastening power thereof works completely on the material 3. Therefore the tensile stress exceeding the necessary field strength for the stress relieving is acted on the material 3 to be worked. |
