PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of slime on a weaving machine by applying antimicrobial agent to the upper end surface or the like of a package used as warp of textile to apply antimicrobial agent easily and reliably. CONSTITUTION:A yarn Y is wound round a paper tube 1 to form the side 2 and the lower end surface 3, and a pigtail 4 is applied to the tube. In this case, 0.02wt% of antimicrobial agent for the amount of yarn is applied to the lower end surface 3. The antimicrobial agent is not placed under restriction, but arbitrarily selected among the well-known organic or inorganic group to be used. In case of using water-soluble antimicrobial agent, however, the antimicrobial agent is diluted in water to be easily used. Thus, the generation of slime can be prevented without the use of complicated and inefficient means such as applying antimicrobial agent periodically and directly to the weaving machine, or adding same to a salve. |
