PURPOSE:To restrain intake-air from being super-cooled upon no supercharging to ensure a satisfactory combustion of an engine, by enabling supercharging air to be cooled by an intake-air cooler only upon supercharging. CONSTITUTION:An electro-magnetic clutch 13 is deenergized in a low load rotational speed range including an idling rage, so that no supercharging is effected, and therefore, air from an air-cleaner 8 is fed to an engine 1 through a by-pass passage 16. Upon high load operation or in a high rotational speed range, the electromagnetic clutch 13 is energized so that the supercharger 12 is driven to feed the intake-air from the air-cleaner 8 so that the intake-air is cooled by an intake-air coller 15 and is then fed into the combustion chamber 3 of the engine 1. |
