Apparatus for evacuating and closing filled bags

The apparatus has a rotating carrier (6) with a plurality of chambers (48) for the filled bags (46). Each chamber (48) can be connected successively to vacuum pumps and to the ambient atmosphere via a line (50) and a channel (40, 31). For controlling the evacuating and draining flow-off, each chamber (48) is assigned a throttle valve (35) which is controlled by a stationary cam disk (18). Attached to the carrier (6) is a ring (8) which has passage orifices (15) and on which a connecting disk (9) with slots (26, 27, 28) rests in an air-tight manner. The slots (26, 27, 28) are connected to the vacuum pumps and to the ambient atmosphere and can be brought into coincidence with the orifices (15). The apparatus is suitable especially for the packaging of ground coffee. <IMAGE>
