PURPOSE:To supplement accurately and speedily toner by detecting the total amount of toner which is stuck in an image area of a photosensitive body and consumed accurately all the time, and controlling the rotating speed or rotational angle of a toner supplement roller according to the detected value. CONSTITUTION:Toner consumption per unit is read out on the basis of the digital signal outputted by an A/D converter 60 and inputted to and integrated by an integral value register, and a clock pulse counter 1 increases its contents by one. Further, the toner consumption is calculated from the remaining amount of toner in a toner hopper 3 which is stored in NOV.RAM63. When the remaining amount is smaller than a set value, a control signal is outputted to the power circuit 54 of a pilot lamp 7 and the remaining amount of toner in the toner hopper 3 is displayed on the pilot lamp 7. The rotating speed or rotational angle of the toner supplement roller 30 is controlled through a stepping motor 31 so that toner corresponding to the toner consumption per specific time which is integrated by the integral value register is supplemented, and the supplementary amount of toner is controlled to hold the ratio of the toner and a magnetic carrier constant. |
