<p>PURPOSE:To reduce remarkably orientation disorder generated on a display electrode by an influence of a projecting part, by rubbing an orientation of the surface of an uneven substrate to an active element side from the display electrode side in a pair of active elements and the display electrode. CONSTITUTION:An arrow in the figure indicates a rubbing direction, and a pair of active elements 1 and a display electrode 2 are rubbed from a recessed part to a projecting part, namely, in the direction of the active elements 1 from the display electrode 2, with a cloth or a cotton textile. When rubbing is executed in this way, the display electrode is not stroked down between a pair of active elements 1 and the display electrode 2, therefore, orientation disorder on the display electrode 2, which has been generated in a conventional rubbing direction is not generated, and a drop of a display performance in case a voltage is applied does not occur. Also, the active element 1 comes to generate orientation disorder 8 at the left-hand adjacent display electrode side, but this disorder 8 is generated in a part of a gap 5 of the electrode. Accordingly, even if the orientation disorder 8 is generated, no voltage is applied to the gap 5, therefore, a drop of a display performance in case a voltage is applied does not occur. Also, as for an influence on the display electrode 2, it is scarcely affected by the right-hand adjacent active element, because the gap 5 becomes hollow as compared with the display electrode 2.</p> |
