PURPOSE:To decrease considerably the wear of a cutting tool by forming a magnetic film previously into a shape excluding an elimination part for formation of a head gap surface and processing only a part that is used as the gap surface by the cutting tool. CONSTITUTION:The 1st magnetic film 3 is formed on a nonmagnetic substrate 2 into an L shape by a mask sputtering process, etc. Then a part of the film 3 is removed for formation of a gap surface 4 by means of a diamond cutting tool. The 2nd magnetic film 6 is formed on a magnetic film eliminated part 10 after a nonmagnetic gap spacer 5 of SiO2, etc. and the film 3 are formed. Then the film 6 is removed by lapping excepting the part which covers the part 10. A nonmagnetic substrate serving as a protection member 7 is adhered and a winding window 8 is formed. Then a winding 9 is added. |
