In an identification card having a nonmagnetic carrier (1) and a magnetisable strip (3) arranged thereupon, the information is recorded, to increase protection against forgery, with high recording density in the form of an area pattern which is formed by a number of intermediate spaces, separated out of the magnetisable strip (3), and magnetisable sections located between the intermediate spaces.
