The invention relates to an ISO building-block system for cold insulation, heat insulation and sound insulation. The system can be used to build walls, in particular in the case of houses, halls and buildings of all types, in accordance with the conventional and known construction methods. An insulating layer is formed in an ISO building-block system by filling the existing cavities on the outer sides of each ISO building-block with expandable insulating material. After solidifying, said insulating layer forms, throughout the masonry structure, a cold insulation, heat insulation and sound insulation which cannot be seen from outside or inside. As has been the case hitherto, a masonry structure constructed by the ISO building-block system can be plastered inside and outside. Since the insulation is not exposed to weathering, expenditure in terms of repair and maintenance is not necessary. Time and materials which have been expended in order to provide interior or exterior insulation used up until now are greatly reduced by the ISO building-block system.
