A brake pressure control unit for a brake system in motor vehicles is described, in which both a shut-off valve for the brake line section to a brake master cylinder and a piston in the brake line section to a wheel brake cylinder can be adjusted by an electric motor. Such a brake pressure control unit is preferably intended as replacement for the known inlet and outlet valves in antilock control systems, which have hitherto been controlled by way of two electromagnets.
