The device serves to easily slacken tightened or rusted-in bolts and nuts in general and specifically as a special tool for passenger cars for slackening wheel nuts for use in the event of a puncture or when changing summer or winter tyres outside a special workshop. By slight turning with an open-end wrench or locking handle on a bolt, pressure is exerted on a piston via a fluid medium. The piston moves a lever with a square end. Socket inserts with various bolt sizes can be slipped onto the square end. Serving as a counterstay is a retaining arm which is fastened to the device and can be placed against the adjacent nut, for example, when slackening wheel nuts.
