A pressure sensing means for a body (10) movable in a fluid in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis (33) of the body. The chamber (17) is provided within the body (10) and a plurality of bores (14) extending radially from the chamber (17) to outer ends (15) opening to ambient fluid so that as the body (10) moves any pressure differential between the outer end (15) and inner end (16) causes fluid flow in the bore. Each bore (14) is a flow restricting means (20) such as a valve (30) or fluidic diode (21), and operable to restrict outward flow from the inner end (16) to the outward end (15) more than inward flow thus causing the pressure in the chamber (17) to be higher than the average pressure at the outer ends (15). Fluid pressure measuring means (35) is provided in the chamber (17).
