PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, to reduce residual potential, and to improve durability by incorporating a specified indoline compd. in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive layers 2, 2', 2'' each contain an indoline compd. acting as a photoconductor, and capable of generating and transferring electrostatic charge carriers necessary for photodecay action and represented by the formula shown there in which R1 is alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; R2-R4 are each H, halogen, alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; and R5, R6 are each alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl, or both may combine with each other to form a ring. The photosensitive layer 2 contg. said compd. dispersed into a binder is formed on a substrate 1. The photosensitive layer 2' contains said compd. and further, a charge carrying material 3 in the binder. The functionally separated photosensitive layer 2'' has a charge transfer layer 4 contg. said indoline compd. to use as a charge transfer medium. Such indoline compds. have superior solubility in org. solvents, thus permitting the photosensitive body high in sensitivity, low in residual potential, and superior in durability to be easily prepared. |
