PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage and chipping of a blade and develop the abrasion resistance to the max. by using ceramic material onto the contact surface at the top edge part of the supporting blade of a centerless grinder and reinforcing one or the both surfaces of the ceramic by back plates. CONSTITUTION:The back material 2 for the supporting blade of a centerless grinder is integrally attached onto one or the both surfaces of a ceramic tip 1 and reinforces the strength and toughness of the ceramic tip 1. Though the application of the back material onto only one surface is enough to reinforce the strength and toughness, and the application onto the both surfaces is not necessarily required, bending or exfoliation generates in the case where each thermal expansion coefficient of the ceramic material and the back material differs, in other words where the material is formed from bimetal, namely the material formed by superposing different kinds of materials. The bending due to the difference of the extension amount can be offset by using the material prepared by applying the materials having nearly equal thermal expansion coefficient onto the both surfaces.
