PURPOSE:To improve the work efficiency considerably by making a tape electrode insertion hole through a guide member of machining electrode in an electric discharge machine and moving the electrode smoothly while contacting tightly against the molded face of guide member through said insertion hole thereby preventing consumption and deformation of electrode. CONSTITUTION:A tape electrode 9 will pass from a tape electrode feed drum 8 through a tape electrode insertion hole 4a made through a guide member 4 and move while contacting tightly against a portion of the molded face of guide member 4 to be subjected to strong tension from a control roller 15, capstan 10 and pinch roller 11 rotating continuously or continually and collected sequentially by a tape electrode collecting roller 14. Consequently, the tape electrode 9 is deformed along the portion of the molded face 4b of guide member 4 to cover the portion of the molded face 4b with the tape electrode 9. The work 3 is mounted on a mount 2 in a machining tank 1. The electrode 9 is supplied with power through power supply pins 12, 13 while specific voltage pulse is fed between the tape electrode 9 and the work 3 from a power source 22. |
