<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an extremely clean steel enabling the manufacture of a hyperfine wire of a smaller diameter when a clean steel as the material of a hyperfine wire is manufactured, by reducing the amount of Al2O3 type inclusions and dispersing the inclusions as fine grains of a reduced grain size. CONSTITUTION:A steel deoxidized with no Al is refined with slag contg. no Al2O3 by melting in a vacuum induction furnace or an Ar-oxygen decarburization method (AOD), and it is further refined with slag contg. no Al2O3 by an electro-slag remelting method. The refined steel is remelted in a vacuum arc furnace to obtain an extremely clean steel. This steel contains an extremely reduced amount of Al2O3 type inclusions having the most significant effect on breaking during wire drawing as fine grains of a reduced grain size, so when the steel is used, a hyperfine wire of a smaller diameter can be manufactured.</p> |
