PURPOSE:To take a pressure test of the weld zone between piping and its flange without applying any pressure to the existent facilities connecting with the piping by shielding the piping with a plug. CONSTITUTION:The testing device consists of the plug 3 which is inserted into the piping 1 to shield a conduit, a support rod 4 which couples with the plug 3 and extends beyond the flange 2, and a support plate 5 which form a sealed part A in the piping 1 together with the plug 3 by abutting on the flange 3 in engagement with the support rod 4. Then, a pressure test of the weld zone 10 is taken. A pump P supplies pressure liquid into the sealed space A through an entrance 51 formed in the support plate 5. The air in the space A is expelled through a vent pipe 52 and then a vent plug 53 is closed. The pressure application is relieved after the reading on a manometer M attains to a specific value and the pressure test is completed, and then the support plate 5, support rod 4, and plug 3 are removed. |
