PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane foam of good quality having uniform fine cells, by using crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate (crude MDI) modified with an alcohol in a small proportion as an isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:Crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate (crude MDI) modified with 0.08-0.2mol, based on one equivalent isocyanate, monohydric alcohol, preferably CH3OH, etc. is used as an isocyanate to give the aimed polyurethane foam by the froth expansion method.
