PURPOSE:To work a cylinder having the correct and superior surface roughness in a short time by allowing the axis center of a work to be directed in the direction crossing with a grindstone main-shaft and permitting the grinding at the edge surface of the grindstone by providing a workrest, in a grinder for grinding the outside diameter having a minute diameter. CONSTITUTION:A grindstone shaft motor 18 is installed onto a bed 15, and a diamond grindstone 19 is fixed at the edge of a grindstone main shaft axially supported onto the bearing inside the motor 18, and a grindstone head stock 20 is installed so that the position can be minutely adjusted. A work head stock body 23 is fixed onto a swivel slide on a table 17. A chuck 24 is installed onto the main shaft of the work head stock body 23 so that a work 1 can be held. The parallelism is corrected by turning the swivel slide, and the conical grinding can be executed. The revolution of a work main-shaft motor 25 is input into the work head stock body 23 through a belt transmission apparatus 26 and decelerated to revolve the chuck 24. A workrest 27 which can advance and retreat in the longitudinal direction offsets the release of the work 1.
