PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer having improved oxidation stability and heat stability efficiently without causing gel during polymerization, by grafting a vinyl aromatic monomer onto a specific cyclopentadiene copolymer of heat polymerization. CONSTITUTION:(B) A vinyl aromatic monomer (preferably styrene) is grafted onto (A) a cyclopentadiene polymer obtained by polymerizing thermally a mixture of (i) 40-90wt% cyclopentadiene monomer (e.g., cyclopentadiene, etc.), and (ii) 10-60wt% conjugated diolefin (preferably 4-5C diolefin such as 1,3-butadiene, etc.), to give the desired polymer. A ratio of 10-70wt% component A to 30- 90wt% component B is preferable. USE:An improver for coating compound, ink, etc. and a tackifier for a pressure- sensitive adhesive, etc.
