PURPOSE:To produce a cover glass having good appearance and a high strength at a low cost, by forming a transparent resin layer partially on the rear of the cover glass, and dropping fine particles on the rear thereof to provide honing finish partially thereon. CONSTITUTION:The reaf of an inorganic cover glass 1 is partially printed with an ultraviolet curing acrylic resin ink, and cured by irradiation with ultraviolet light to form an acrylic resin layer 2. Fine particulate carborundum is then dropped thereon to scratch the surface of the acrylic resin layer 2 and provide honing finish. The glass part 1 without the resin layer 2 is unscratched and remains transparent. Thus, a boundary part between the honing finish part and the transparent part is finished well, and the cover glass has a quality sufficient to a cover glass for watches without deteriorating the impact strength of the glass.
