PURPOSE:To improve the refining efficiency by piercing holes for spouting an inert gas and a flux in the tip of an immersion pipe when an electrode enclosed with the pipe is immersed in molten steel and by heating the molten steel with arc through a flux. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 3 is immersed in molten steel 2 in a ladle 1 and enclosed with an immersion pipe 8 having holes 15 for spouting an inert gas and a flux at the tip. The molten steel 2 is heated with arc through a flux 11 having refining power. By this method the refining efficiency is improved in spite of short-time refining with a small amount of the flux 11. |
