PURPOSE:To mass-produce a wholly trans decaprenyl pyrophosphate at a low cost, by using an enzyme isolated from a microorganism, belonging to the genus Paracoccus, and containing coenzyme Q. CONSTITUTION:At least one selected from the group consisting of wholly trans geranyl pyrophosphate, wholly trans farnesyl pyrophosphate and geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate is reacted with isopentenyl pyrophosphate in the presence of wholly trans decaprenyl pyrophosphate synthetase isolated from a microorganism, belonging to the genus Paracoccus, and containing coenzyme Q, e.g. Paracoccus denitrificans IFO13301. |
