PURPOSE:To contrive to realize the safety of combustion by a structure wherein two catalysts and temperature detectors of the same number therebetween are provided. CONSTITUTION:Fuel evaporates on a ceramic evaporating dish and is straightened its flow together with combustion air by means of a distributing plate and is supplied to catalysts 1 and 2. When the resultant fuel-gas mixture is ignited, the temperature of a space in a gap 5 is quickly raised by flames, resulting in causing to cut off an ignition heater 7 by means of a thermocouple A6. In addition, if the temperature of the space in the gap 5 does not become enough high even after the elapse of a long period of time since the start of fuel supply, the actuation of a burner is stopped. During normal combustion, a thermocouple B9 acts as a safety mechanism so as to keep the value of air fuel ratio at the optimum value. Concretely, due to the structure equipped with the temperature detector and the ignition mechanism of the catalytic burner between the two catalysts, the energizing to an igniter can be stopped by detecting that the catalytic burner is ignited, while the supply of fuel is shut off by detecting ignition failure, resulting in enabling to take a proper step for the safety of a heating burner. |
