A blade nail is used which has a bending indentation extending at right-angles to the nail longitudinal direction over its wider dimension. The indentation is located at a distance from the nail welding end which corresponds to the the thickness of the mat. The nail part projecting beyond the mat is bent along the indentation so that it is at least at 90 degrees to the part of the nail inside the mat. It is also possible for the nail point to be bent thrugh 90 degrees in the same direction.
