PURPOSE:To lighten the speed-change shock by correctly calculating the delay time ranging from the transmission of speed-change instruction to the start of speed change and starting the control for the engine output torque from the time point when the delay time lapses. CONSTITUTION:An automatic speed change gear is equipped with a speed-change instruction detecting means and a delay-time calculating means which correctly calculates the delay time ranging from the transmission of speed-change instruction to the start of speed change, and each output from these apparatuses is input into an engine output torque control means, and the control for the engine output torque is started from the time point when the above-described delay time lapses. Therefore, the engine-output torque can be controlled by always time-adjusting to the actual speed change, and the speed-change shock due to torque control can be lightened.
