<p>PURPOSE:To easily obtain a high performance transmission/reception device by sampling high band frequency components out of television picture signals by using a subsample encoder, and applying band compression, synthesizing with low band components and transmitting said high band frequency components. CONSTITUTION:An input signal on the transmitting side is added to an LPF4, a breaking frequency Fs/n1. The LPF4's I/O is added to a subtractor 5 and high band frequency components of Fs/n1 or above which are obtained from the subtractor 5 are added to a subsample encoder 7, where they are converted into subsample signals shown by an oblique line area II. Outputs of a low band filter 4 and the encoder 7 are synthesized by an adder 6 and outputted to a transmission line. Signals received on the receiving side are inputted to the filter 4 with the same characteristics as those on the transmitting side, where firstly an area I is separated and spectra indicated by dotted lines are reproduced by a subsample decoder 8, to which a low band frequency components I are added by the adder 6, and spectra signals in the same band Fs as those on the transmitting side are obtained.</p> |
