PURPOSE:To obtain an automatic focus device suitable for an electronic still camera by moving an image pickup element of a camera main body in parallel on the center of optical axis back and forth and providing the center of the moving device on the center of optical axis to minimize the tilt of the image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:A light from an object reaches an image pickup element 2 via lenses 3, 4 and observed via mirrors 6, 6a. A camera main body 9 is provided with the image pickup element 2, a shield case 19 shielding it, a guide shaft 18 to move the image pickup element 2 in parallel, the mirror 6 elevated in the direction of the arrow 16 around a turning shaft 11 and a finder section observing the light reflected on the mirror 6, and further a lens mirror barrel 8 is fitted so as to be replaced by a mount section 15. In adjusting the focus, a motor is driven to move in parallel the image pickup element 2 back and forth as shown in the arrow 5 at each shield case 19. |
