PURPOSE:To improve durability of a bearing, by a method wherein a spiral groove is provided in a cylinder part with which the intermediate part of an idler shaft is rotatably engaged, and an axial through-hole is provided in the idler shaft. CONSTITUTION:An axial-flow pump is constituted such that a spiral groove 36, which has the one end, being open to the interior of an oil reservoir, and has a dead end at the other end, is provided in a cylinder part 34 of a casing 18 with which the intermediate part of an idler shaft 14 is rotatably engaged, an axial through-hole 38 is formed in the idler shaft 14, and oil viscosity is utilized by the use of the spiral groove 36 and the idler shaft 14. This enables sufficient lubricating oil to be supplied to bearings 20 and 22 supporting the idler shaft 14, resulting in the possibility to improve durable performance of the bearings 20 and 22. |
