PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material in which a developed color density is high and recorded images are not decolored by moisture, heat or the like, wherein a dihydroxybenzoic acid ester is used as an electron-acceptive compound together with a hindered phenol compound and an electron-donative dye. CONSTITUTION:The objective recording material comprises (A) an electron-donative dye, e.g., 2-anilino-3-chloro-6-diethylaminofluoran, (B) a dihydroxybenzoic acid ester, preferably, a compound of formula I or II, wherein R is 2-C alkyl, cycloalkyl or 7-C aralkyl, e.g., propyl 2,4-dihydroxybenzoate or benzyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate, and (C) a hindered phenol compound {preferably, a phenol (derivative) substituted by t-butyl group at least one or more of 2-position and 6-position, e.g., bis[3,3-bis(4'-hydroxy-3'-t-butylphenyl)butanoic acid]glycol ester}. |
