PURPOSE:To obtain a disc recording and reproducing device erasing both the standard and a double size tracks b using a 5-layer magnetic head where a main erase head core is arranged at both sides of a read/write head core respectivey and an auxiliary erase head core is arranged at both sides of the main erase head core. CONSTITUTION:In a floppy disc device recording and reproducing digital information, the main erase head cores 22, 22 are provided at both sides of a read/write erase head core 21. The auxiliary erase head cores 24, 24 are provided at the outside of both the cores 22, 22 further to form the 5-layer magnetic head. The 5-layer head is imbedded to a ceramic-made slider 23, whose surface is polished into a plane. In rewriting a data on the standard track, an erase signal is given to the cores 22, 22 and 24, 24 to erase the data and the erase signal is given to the data rewrite cores 22, 22 only for the double track size recording. Thus, the data is erased surely without giving effect on the adjacent tracks. |
