PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product that can give porous pellets for water treatment that are excellent in treatment of oil and whose particle diameter distribution is narrow, by taking up, in a specified manner, strands that have been produced by melting and extruding a mixture of a thermoplastic organic polymer and a blowing agent. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of a thermoplastic organic polymer (e.g. polyethylene, etc.) and a decomposable blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbon amide, etc.) is melted and extruded at a temperature equal to or higher than the decomposition temperature of the blowing agent through a plurality of nozzles (preferably circular nozzles having a inner diameter of 1-2mm.), and the thus formed porous strands whose surfaces are well roughened are stretched and taken up in a water stream that is running in the direction of the taking-up. EFFECT:If the strands happen to break, the broken strands fuse of their own, and therefore labor is not required in the take-up operation. |
