PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and facilitate the operation by a structure wherein a valve opening transmission mechanism to open a valve body interlocking with an ignition knob and a delay mechanism of the reset time of the transmitting member of said valve opening transmission mechanism are provided. CONSTITUTION:A valve body 26 is open through a valve opening transmission mechanism 23 by the actuation of an ignition knob 8 in order to start the combustion of gas at a burner. When the hand of an operator is removed from the knob 8, the valve body 26 tends to be closed by means of a shut-off spring 27. However, a transmitting member 18 is put into actuation by means of a delay mechanism 22, resulting in moving also the valve body 26 in the direction to close itself. Before the valve body 26 closes a valve seat 25, the temperature of a thermal responsive element reaches high, resulting in holding the valve body 26 at its fully open position and keeping the burner in combustion state. If extinguishment occurs due to ignition failure, boiling-over, blow off and the like, the temperature of the thermal responsive element becomes low and consequently its force to keep on opening the valve is lost, resulting in allowing the valve body 26 to be closed by the shut-off spring 27 and stopping the supply of gas. Thus, the operability becomes good and at the same time the simple constitution and low cost are realized. |
