PURPOSE:To improve a degree of explosion-proof reinforcement in an effective manner, by setting a bending shoulder part ranging from a faceplate outer surface of a panel part to a skirt outer circumferential surface down to a radius of cuvature of less than 3mm., while making an effective available range of stress in a clamping band come nearer to the faceplate surface. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing clamping band 3 is tightly clamped to an outer circumference of a skirt 1ps being bent and extended from the peripheral edge of a faceplate 1pf of a panel 1p whereby an explosion-proof cathode-ray tube is formed up. At this time, it is made into a glass mold so as to cause a radius of curvature in a bending shoulder part S ranging from an outer surface of the faceplate to an outer circumferential surface of the skirt 1ps to be adjusted to a range of 2-3mm. whereby a mold match line 5 is made to be situated frontward, and a tangential position P of a taper T2 for a circle (a) is set down to a position proximate to an extension surface (b) of the outer surface of the faceplate 1pf. Therefore, even when a generation position of clamping stress in the band 3 is made to come nearer to the faceplace 1pf surface and thickness in the panel part P is yet more thinned, sufficient reinforcement can be performed as specified. |
